Whew just got home. What a wild night.

played at Greektown in Detroit.

up and down up and down. Buy in for 200 get it up to 350 or so lose a couple of nice pots and back down to 120. Get back up to 340 and this hand comes up.

I am in BB. Ep pops it to 10 5 callers till it gets to me. 61 in the pot right now. I have 3h 5h. These hands are very simple you call. Either you hit the flop and bet or miss and check.

Flop comes Ah 2h 4s. Action on me I lead out for 15 just to see if I will get action. Shit turns out 4 call me. So now the pot is pot now 136.

I sit like a stone turn comes a miracle miracle 4h. I have fireworks going of in my head. Oh please let someone have 2 h's with the K. At this point I check. Either people will have hit something or not. Well the original ep raiser leads out for 45. Mid position guy just smooth calls folds to me. With the smooth call I say to myself I think that guy has 2 h's. No clue what ep could have. I call. Pot is now 271.

Ready to fire out a good bet after the river. I am watching these 2, its like they are not even interested in the river. I'm like shit they both have a good hand and I know someone is thinking they have the nut flush, River is a harmless 10s.

So now talk about max value on my money. I onlyhave 70 in a pot of 270.

I bet out 120. Thinking I hope mid guy will push all in over the top and hell ep might even call. Turns out the ep guy goes all in very fast he had about the same as I did.. Mid guy pushes his remaining 250 into the pot. I tell the dealer to just count out the ep guy and I call. I don't slow roll I just say I got the nuts and flip over my cards.

EP guy had A 4 for a boat. MP guy had like I thought K Jh's. AT first he said he had the nut flush and thought he had won. I show the dealer that my 3 5h's make that a straight flush. I am excited to say that was a wild wild hand that I had no business being in the hand. Guys says you called 10 with 3-5. I said with every call it got easier and easier to call. MP guy was shocked and thought he was going to get a big pot. So I get a 1150 or so pot. I flip the dealer a greenie and proceed to fold for the next hr as I was card dead after the deck hit me so hard. I left soon after.

Wow sounds like a good night, I've started playing poker a little more recently but am still a novice at best. Any advice for how I can start towards becoming a real player?

I say for anybody new to poker is learn how to fold. Position is so important. Don't play garbage out of position. also bet sizing is very importnt. Don't buy in short (this is a clear sign of a newbie)

Don't be a limper. Meaning don't always limp in with marginal hands. Everytime you just give $2 away just to see the flop you are giving your power away along with your chips.

Now the hand above I had no choice but to call. I put $8 more into a $63 pot. Seemd fair to me. Now like I said this hand plays itself. I either hit the flop and continue on or I miss and check than fold to any bet. Hell I fold if I only hit a 5. With that many people in the pot just hitting a 5 is not good enough. Si it makes it real simple to play.

The guy that had the flush said I played that real sneaky. I said I didn't and after the flop I was ahead the whole way. He just had a bad break of catching his card but it didn't make him stronger. Nothing you can do when that happens.
